HIGH HEAT SALT BATH WITH WATER COOLED ELECTRODES are advantageously used for high heat temperature heat treatment such as, hardening, solution treating, quenching and tempering.

ELECTRIC IMMERSION HEATER TYPE SALT BATHS provide excellent facility for low temperature liquid heat treatment such as, tempering, annealing and aluminum heat treating.

ELECTRIC IMMERSION HEATER TYPE SALT BATHS

Park Thermal Immersion Heater Salt Baths provide an excellent facility for low temperature liquid heat treatment, such as tempering, annealing and aluminum heat treating. These salt baths provide temperature uniformity and speed of heating comparable to or even better than what can be obtained in a well designed air circulation type furnace, with great reduction of floor space and cost. An outstanding application has been in the heat treatment of alloys where speed and uniformity of heating are of paramount importance. The buoyancy of the liquid bath aids in supporting parts so there is less distortion and no scaling. Park Thermal's Immersion Heater Type Salt Bath has been designed specifically for use with the low temperature nitrate-nitrite salts customarily used in the working range up to approximately 1100°F. Thermal efficiency is high because the heaters are immersed right in the salt. Capitol costs are low and the equipment lasts for many years with very little maintenance required.

HIGH HEAT SALT BATH with WATER COOLED ELECTRODES

Park Thermal's over-the-side electrode baths are advantageously used for high heat temperature heat treatment such as, hardening, solution treating, quenching and tempering. Salts in the liquid state become excellent resistors and heat is generated by passing low voltage high amperage current through fused salt between sturdy alloy electrodes. Closely spaced electrodes provide electrodynamic circulation of the molten salt not only for close temperature control, but also speed of heating. The internal heating by electrodes in the molten medium spells high thermal efficiency with 50% savings over fuel-fired pot type furnaces. Speed of heating by conduction is 5 times faster than radiation furnaces making smaller equipment with much lower capitol investment. Distortion is greatly reduced due to even heating. Park also has submerged knee type electrodes for neutral hardening in all temperature ranges, including isothermal heat treatment for distortion control with minimum rejects and no surface changes.
