OVERVIEW

Park Thermal Gas Fired Car Bottom Furnaces are engineered and constructed for heat treatment processes including annealing, normalizing and stress relieving.

Uniform temperature control is achieved by dividing the furnace into various temperature control zones with a cam programmer and various remote/local set point solid-state controls enabling the unit to operate in a fully automatic or manual mode.

Full flame supervision during automatic light off and normal operation ensure complete safety. The door attached to the car ensures maximum sealing and also reduces head room required for furnace installation. The furnace door is also insulated to prevent distortion. These units are designed to meet local gas and electric codes.

The selection of ceramic blanket for insulation of the furnace shell and door assures rapid heat up and cool down, cutting fuel costs and permitting simple repairs when necessary. The car is designed to handle uneven load distribution.

FURNACE OUTER SHELL

The furnace shell is fabricated from heavy mild steel plate fully welded gas tight and suitable reinforced with structural steel and a robust channel base. The furnace exterior is finished with a heat resistance industrial enamel paint.

FURNACE INSULATION

The furnace insulation is a combination of ceramic fibre layers engineered to ensure excellent insulating properties to provide a safe outer shell cold face temperature and also allows for fast heat-up and cool down of the furnace.

FURNACE HEATING

The furnaces can be supplied with either an electric heating element package or a gas fired package.

Electric heating packages consist of coild 80/20 Nickel/Chrome elements, custom manufactured in house and mounted on an alloy frame and the plug assembly is designed to be easily removed for maintenance.

Indirect gas fired package consists of a complete gas valve train, complete with burner and a serpintine alloy radiant tube assembly which can be accessed for maintenance by removing the back plate of the furnace. Gas furnaces meet all gas safety standards. An additional feature is the supply of a flow meter on gas fired furnaces, to ensure a full 'stoichiometric' condition is recognized.

AIR CIRCULATION

Air re-circulation is achieved by the use of a roof mounted high temperature plug fan discharging across the ceiling through a louver plenium down into the work chamber and returning into the heating chamber located at the back of the furnace.

CHARGE SUPPORT

The furnace is supplied with two or three alloy roller rails supported by alloy piers or flat rails for loading by a forklift truck. The charge support is designed to meet the customers weight requirements.

DOOR ASSEMBLY

Door AssemblyDoor Assembly

The furnace door is robust and constructed with the same materials as the furnace shell and is a vertical rising door operated by a helical worm gear drive system which ensures a very positive seal when in the closed position.

CONTROL PANEL

21

The furnace is complete with a NEMA 12 control panel completely pre-wired and user friendly. Park Thermal engineers the control panels with 'state of the art' controls including temperature and over-temperature controllers, temperature recorder, SCR power controller, (optional PLC) and all necessary switches, push buttons, relays, fuses, alarms, etc. The control panel is completely Hydro approved.

ATMOSPHERE CONTROL

The furnace is equipped with a nitrogen flow meter to control the flow of nitrogen atmosp[here entering the work chamber.

FACTORY TESTING & OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS

Prior to delivery, Park Thermal factory tests each furnace to ensure the equipment is properly set up to meet our customer's requirements.

The furnace is complete with a maintenance and operational manual, which includes start up instructions and dry-out procedures. Park Thermal also offers on site training and technical support.
